Here are a few questions for 1:10 small groups, family devotions, or personal meditation, as we seek to apply God’s Word to our lives.
1. Opener: How do you describe Northwest Iowa to people who are from far away? Is your description overall positive or negative?
2. Read Luke 1:26-38. What is one thing from this week’s text or sermon that resonated with you?
3. How does Mary respond differently than Zechariah to the announcement from Gabriel?
4. What are common misconceptions we have about earning favor with God? What does God’s favor towards us look like?
5. How then should we live knowing that we cannot earn any more favor with God than we already have?
6. Who was the “angel” sent to you to tell you about Jesus Christ?
7. The Great Commission says “Go and make disciples”. Who has discipled you in your faith? Are you currently discipling anyone? Is God calling you to pursue a discipleship relationship with someone?
8. In what area of your life do you need to believe that nothing is impossible with God?
9. Reflect on the past week, or your personal Bible reading. How has He been working in your heart?
