Discussion Questions

1. What’s your favorite board game and why? On a scale of 1-10 (10 being highest), how much do you love to play board games?

2. Describe a time when you’ve seen God line up circumstances or situations to bring about something good in your life. Did you realize it at the time or did you recognize it later?

3. Pastor Quintin contrasted the Emperor Augustus and the Savior Jesus. What were the ways of Augustus in offering hope to people? How does that compare with the ways of Jesus? In looking for lasting hope, how is it easy to ignore Jesus and pursue something or someone else.

4. The shepherds wanted to experience firsthand the presence of Jesus. They followed a strategy of “go-see-hurry-find.” Why does a lackluster pursuit of God often not deliver the hope we want? What’s a simple way you can “go-see-hurry-find” Jesus during the Christmas season? What can you prioritize that would bring more hope into your life?

5. Who is the One Life God has placed in your path whom you desire to come to know Christ? How can Christmas be an opportunity to do good works, become a good neighbor, or share good news with them?

6. What’s a simple thing that your Life Group could do together that would help one another experience deeper friendship and hope?
