There may be obstacles in our lives that blind us to seeing Jesus in all His glory.
Hebrews 12:1b-2 “let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
1. What presumption leads you to believe you have seen Jesus or have been saved? Is that presumption a good/Biblical one?
2. Recount how you came to a true and live changing faith of your own? Particularly if you grew up in a Christian home when did your faith become your own?
3. What idols do you feel most pulled toward? Self sufficiency, entitlement, or pleasure/comfort? How do you seek to throw them aside?
