1) Gratitude is God’s Will


(1 Thessalonians 5:18) Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)

(Psalm 136:1-5) Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.His steadfast love endures forever.2 Give thanks to the God of gods.His steadfast love endures forever.3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:His steadfast love endures forever. 4 to Him who alone does great wonders,His steadfast love endures forever.5 who by His understanding made the heavens,His steadfast love endures forever.

3) Gratitude Yields Contentment


(Philippians 4:11-13) “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”


(Philippians 4:4) - “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”


Not for my circumstances,
but in my circumstances, I will rejoice.

4) Gratitude Postures My Heart


(1 Corinthians 4:7) What are you so puffed up about? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if all you have is from God, why act as though you are so great, and as though you have accomplished something on your own? (TLB)

5) Gratitude Invites God’s Presence


(Philippians 4:6-7) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (ESV)
