What does it mean to follow Jesus?

To follow Jesus is to submit every aspect of your life to Him.

1) Hear the Word of Jesus (vv. 1-3)
2) Obey the command of Jesus (vv. 4-7)
3) Confess sins to Jesus (vv. 8-9)
4) Receive the call of Jesus (v. 10) 5) Treasure Jesus (v. 11)

True followers hear the Word of Jesus as the Word of God.

True followers obey the command of Jesus.

True followers confess sin to Jesus.

It’s not as if we take our sinful disobedience lightly because there is grace to cover it, we strive even harder to obey in the blood bought grace given to us.

True followers of Jesus recieve the call of Jesus.

True followers of Jesus treasure Jesus.

1) What are you unwilling to walk away from in order to follow Jesus?

2) What comfort are you holding on to as Jesus beckons you to follow Him?

3) What relationship, habit, hobby, lifestyle choice, or economic status do you value more than Jesus?

To follow Jesus is to submit every aspect of your life to Him.
