Jewish people anticipated an anointed king (Messiah): Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23, 30
The Messiah will rule and reign (Isaiah 9:6)
Before the Messiah arrives, there is a tribulation of suffering for God’s people
A messenger will proclaim the soon arrival of the Messiah
Nations will ally themselves and fight against the Messiah
Jerusalem will be purified and renovated
Jewish people will come back to the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem
Israel will become the center of the world and people will worship the Messiah there
The Messiah ushers in a new age of peace, prosperity and goodness that will last forever
Jesus rides into the city of Jerusalem and people conclude he is their Messiah (Matthew 21:1-11)
Jewish mindset does not comprehend the death or resurrection of their Messiah.
Peter declared that Jesus was the Messiah (Matthew 16:16)
