We will be collecting our Vision Virginia State Missions Offering during the month of September. You can give by using one of the Vision Virginia offering envelopes provided in the bulletin or by designating your check and placing it in the offering plate on Sunday morning. This offering supports important ministries of our state convention like church planting, Baptist Builders, seminary scholarships, church strengthening ministries, and many other important projects. Our goal this year is $3,000. Let’s see if we can exceed our goal again! Our book of the month for September is The Glory Now Revealed by Andrew Davis. This is a wonderful book that looks at the Bible’s teaching concerning heaven. Reading the book will leave you longing for heaven. While not directly related, this resource coincides with the start of our sermon series through Revelation. The book is available to you for $10. Money can be marked for book of the month and placed in the offering plate on Sundays or turned in to the church office. There will be an opportunity to discuss a chapter of the book each week during Wednesday night prayer.

Will you help us invite folks to Goshen by writing letters? We would like to send personal invitation letters to some of the folks who have just recently moved to the area surrounding our church. We will provide you with church letterhead and envelopes that have been addressed and stamped. All you have to do is write the letter and stick it in the mailbox! Bundles of 10 can be found on the table in foyer and also in the main hallway.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 7 at 5:30pm as we resume the Wednesday Night Meal. The menu for the evening is spaghetti, salad, chicken nuggets, and desserts. Please sign up on the bulletin board so we have an idea of the number attending. Suggested donation of $3 per person and no more than $10 per family. Feel free to invite friends and family.

AWANA (K-5th grade), youth Bible study, and Wednesday night prayer group will begin on Wednesday, September 7.

Our third quarter ministry rally (information meeting) will be held on Sunday, September 11. This will be a time to provide you with information concerning the many things going on at Goshen. Following the worship service, we will have a potluck meal in the fellowship hall with the ministry rally presentation taking place after everyone gets their food. Please bring an entrée and side or dessert.

The morning Bible study will be held at Mary Vakos’ home on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am beginning September 20 and will be studying Courtney Doctor’s “In View of God’s Mercies –Romans.” If you have questions regarding this study, please contact Mary at 540-582-5953.

The evening Bible study will begin meeting upstairs at Goshen on Tuesday, September 13 at 7 pm. They will be studying Jen Wilkin’s “If you have questions regarding this study, please contact Ashley Blosser at ashleygbloss89@gmail.com or 434-542-3597.

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for an evening bonfire on the church lawn Friday, Sept. 16 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Join us for a night of fun, fellowship, and s'mores. Sign up on the sign-up sheet in the foyer or by letting Sarah know at goshen.sarah.m@gmail.com.

Josh Grimes will be leading a six-week Bible study beginning on Saturday, September 17 at 9am here at Goshen. You will be studying the 33 Series Vol. 1, A Man and His Design. This study seeks to discover God’s design for men, using the example set forth by Jesus during His ministry. Goshen has several copies of the book for the study on hand, so there will be no cost to participate. A sign-up sheet can be found on the bulletin board in the main hallway. Goshen Student Ministry is proudly hosting a Youth Ministry Conference on Saturday, October 1 from 8:45 - 3:00 PM. All students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for a time of teaching, worship, and fellowship, as we learn to define ourselves by the one who created us. Students are encouraged to bring their friends. Please pray for us as we seek to put on this Christ-centered community event.
