Sunday Worship August 7, 2022
We gather to worship God together with music, prayer, scripture, and a message. Today, we will also be celebrating the Lord's Supper.
Locations & Times

    Sunday 10:45 AM

Say hello in the comments and let us know where you're worshipping today.

Prepare for worship by asking God to help you be aware of his presence.

Towards the end of the service, we'll have a time for sharing joys and concerns and praying for one another. If you are joining us online, let us know in the comments how we can pray with you today.

We will be celebrating communion near the end of our time together. We will be serving the Lord's Supper similar to how we did it before the pandemic, but we have prepacked elements available for those who prefer them.

If you are joining us online, you can have the traditional juice and bread, but you don't have to. Jesus used what was already there on the table, the bread and wine that were part of their dinner. Those items became significant because he gave them special meaning. So feel free to use whatever beverage and food you have on hand.
(Bold means everyone speaks together)

The Almighty God speaks, and calls to the whole earth from east to west.
God’s dazzling light shines out from everywhere God dwells.
God says, “Giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”
We give thanks to the Lord with all that we have and all that we are!

Verse 1
Breathe on me breath of God breathe on me
Breathe on me breath of God breathe on me
I come alive I'm alive when You breathe on me
I come alive I'm alive when You breathe on me

Awake awake awake my soul
God resurrect these bones
From death to life for You alone
Awake my soul

Verse 2
Speak to me Word of God speak to me
Speak to me Word of God speak to me
I come alive I'm alive when You speak to me oh
I come alive I'm alive when You speak to me

Spoken Words
Then He said to me
Prophesy to these bones and say to them
Dry bones hear the Word of the Lord
This is what the sovereign Lord says to these bones
I will make breath enter you
And you will come to life
So I prophesied as I was commanded
As I was prophesying there was a noise
A rattling sound
And the bones came together
Bone to bone and I looked
And the tendons and the flesh appeared on them
And skin covered them
But there was no breath in them
And then He said to me
Prophesy to the breath
Prophesy son of man and say to them
Come from the four winds oh breath and breathe

Loving God, forgive us. We can’t help but worry about tomorrow and feel shame about yesterday, even when that keeps us from enjoying your presence with us in today. Help us to trust you with yesterday and tomorrow, and be more fully present with you in each day.

Let us have a moment of silent reflection.
~Silent reflection~

God’s mercy is everlasting. Let us trust God’s forgiveness, confident that in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

Verse 1
The sun comes up it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Verse 2
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Verse 3
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Worship Your holy name
Lord I'll worship Your holy name

Sing like never before O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Worship Your holy name
Worship Your holy name

LUKE 12:22-34
The Message

ONE: This is the word of the Lord.
ALL: Thanks be to God.

Rev. Melissa Krabbe

Worship & Rejoice Hymn #61

Verse 1
There's a wideness in God's mercy
Like the wideness of the sea
There's a kindness in His justice
Which is more than liberty

Verse 2
There is welcome for the sinner
And more graces for the good
There is mercy with the Saviour
There is healing in His blood

Verse 3
For the love of God is broader
Than the measure of our mind
And the heart of the Eternal
Is most wonderfully kind

Verse 4
If our love were but more simple
We would take him at his word
And our lives would be illumined
By the presence of our Lord

Worship & Rejoice Hymnal Front Flap

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.

For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.

Worship & Rejoice #72

Verse 1
Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow
Of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever wilt be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Verse 2
Summer and winter
And springtime and harvest
Sun moon and stars
In their courses above
Join with all nature
In manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness
Mercy and love

Verse 3
Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thy own dear presence
To cheer and to guide
Strength for today
And bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine
With ten thousand beside

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. —Romans 15:13

We need your help! You can help us shop for our Little Free Pantry. We still need someone to sign up for the month of August.

This is the Last Week! Sign up to volunteer. The “Kids Kupboard” is open from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Wednesdays ending Thursday, August 11.

God’s love for us never ends. In gratitude and joy, we give to God our offerings. Let us worship as we give. PRAYER OF DEDICATION: God, in all your ways, use me and use all that you have given me to spread your goodness in our world. May my gift today remind me to be thankful to you for putting me in this time and place to serve you and to honor you, for you are my all in all, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen.
