Matthew 7:24-27

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Mind Over Matter: “my ability and beliefs can overcome my problems and challenges.”
My Life Isn’t Controlled by What I Think.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3 “We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”
Matter Over Mind: “trusting in God’s promises over my abilities and beliefs.”
Romans 12:2

2“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Knowing God’s Word
2 Timothy 3:1-5

1 “You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.
God’s Word Is Our Foundation for an Unshakable Life.
1. God’s Word Reveals the Truth.
2 Timothy 3:8-9

8 “These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. 9But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.”
Luke 8:16-17

16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. 17For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.”
Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
Fill Your Mind and Life with God’s Word.
2. God’s Word Brings Freedom.
2 Timothy 3:14-15

14 “But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.15You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
Luke 4:18-19

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come
John 8:31-32

31 “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
You Were Designed to Share God’s Word.
3. God’s Word Prepares Us.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

16All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17.”
Psalm 119:1-3, 9-11, 105-106, 111-112

1 “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.
2 Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.10 I have tried hard to find you—don’t let me wander from your commands.11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.106 again: I will obey your righteous regulations.
