That’s how we will look at that word GIVE today, through three lenses:
Time, Talents and Treasures.

LIE #1:
My time is my time and I can do what I want with it.

Time belongs to God - you and I are on His time and not our own.

I’ve worked hard on my talents, and I should use them for my fame and glory.
Constant battle for those who care most about their talents and fame...

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Matthew 23:11-12...
11 The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
1 John 2:16...
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
LIE #2:

- Spiritual gifts are not the same thing as talents.
- They are God’s gifts to be used for His fame and glory.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
TRUTH #2:
If your talents are more important than your spiritual gifts, God may never get the glory He deserves from your life.
- Spiritual gifts are not the same thing as talents.
- They are God’s gifts to be used for His fame and glory.

Talents...
- gift from God, whether believe it or not
- should be used on behalf of others
- the result of training or genetics...sports, musical, art & many others
- can be possessed by anyone
- as believers should be used for His glory
- can be used entirely for non-spiritual purposes...most of the time are used for own glory
Spiritual Gifts...
- gift from God
- should be used on behalf of church
- the result of the Holy Spirit’s power
- can only be possessed by believers
- should solely focus on ministry/God
Talents...
- gift from God, whether believe it or not
- should be used on behalf of others
- the result of training or genetics...sports, musical, art & many others
- can be possessed by anyone
- as believers should be used for His glory
- can be used entirely for non-spiritual purposes...most of the time are used for own glory

1 Timothy 6:9-10...
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
TRUTH #3:
