July 3, 2022 / In The Meantime... / Waiting On God To Move

The greatest need we have in this broken and discouraging world is to lift our eyes and see God for who He is. God is our only Hope, and the worse the world gets, the more we need this. Join us this morning as we hear from our Young Adults Pastor, Russell Gregory, on how to endure and move forward even when we are discouraged and tired while walking through all of life's struggles.

Isaiah 40:27-31...
27 “Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. 29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. 30 Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, 31 Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
1. Recognize the Cause.

Isaiah 40:27...
““Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God?”
Hebrews 13:5...
“… for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
Colossians 3:2...
“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
Lamentations 3:20-25...
20 “Surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me. 21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul. “Therefore I have hope in Him.” 25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.”
2. Relate to the Correct Perception of God.

Isaiah 40:28-29...
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. 29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.”
Romans 8:28...
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5...
3 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”
3. Receive Constantly from God’s Power.

Isaiah 40:31...
"Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”
STRENGTH:
Power and Ability

Philippians 4:13...
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
ABIDE:
Calling for urgent, effective action

John 15:4-5...
4Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."
