Sermon Notes | June 18th-19th, 2022
John 1:43-51
Jesus gives a real invitation and a real promise.
1. Follow Me
(John 1:35-42, Luke 4:14-15, Matthew 16:24, Matthew 10:1-4)
2. Come and see.
(Psalm 34:8, Matthew 28:20, John 14:26, John 16:7)
Discussion Questions:
1. What simple invitation does Jesus invite those first disciples into? Why do you believe that they said yes?
2. When Jesus asks them to “come and see”, what do you think their initial expectations were? In scripture, do you see that expectation and experience change over time?
3. Jesus extends that same invitation to each of us. Have you accepted His invitation to follow Him?
4. If you have chosen to follow Jesus, how has your understanding and experience changed over time? If you were to block your experience of following Christ into different “eras”, how would you define each? How would you define the era you’re currently in?
5. Is there something God is calling you into today? What steps do you need to take to be immediately obedient to His calling?
