God is Authority over ALL

Numbers 16, Mark 4:35-41

God is the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY.

Everyone will BOW TO HIM.

Creation itself SUBMITS TO the authority of God.

Mark 4:35-41

Jesus, the disciples, and a violent storm.

“Be still!” = “Be muzzled”

Jesus can see BEYOND the storm.

Jesus has AUTHORITY over the storm.

Will He do it for ME?

Will God protect me? Will God do anything about the storm I’m in?

John 6:38-40

If we belong to God through faith in Jesus, God's commitment to us is that WE WILL NOT BE LOST.

God may STOP the storm.

God may USE the storm to bring me home.

God may lead me THROUGH the storm, taking my faith even deeper than before.

God is not dead.

Jesus conquered death.

Those who are His will rise again.

How do you tend to handle your storms?

Are you prone to fear, or is faith a stabilizing anchor for you?

I can TAKE COMFORT in the truth that God has authority over all.

Attach your fearful heart to the calm heart of Jesus.

When I have SURRENDERED

to God’s authority and aligned myself with God,

then I can find GREAT COMFORT

in God’s holy authority.

-Am I facing a storm right now? Where is Jesus in it?

-Am I finding comfort in the assurance that Jesus is greater than my storm, or am I lost in fear, seeing the storm as greater than Jesus?

-Am I OK with God being authority over all things, including my own life?
