Our water baptism service will be on Sunday, May 22, during the morning service. The candidates will meet NEXT Sunday May 15 during the Sunday School time for teaching and instructions. If you have not yet signed up to be water baptized, it is not too late. See Pastor Jeff or Anna !

We will welcome the ministry team from Human life services on Sunday, May 15 during our morning service. Please mark your calendars and plan on joining us that day. If you know anyone who is in need of their assistance, invite them to join you as well!
Dover Youth
We want to welcome our new Youth Pastors, Savy & Jasmine Lopez.! Their first day will be June 1. We will have an installation service followed by a luncheon on Sunday, June 12. We encourage everyone to join us as we install Savy & Jazz into Dover’s Youth Ministry! Sign up for the luncheon is in the lower foyer.
Calling all teens - Grade 6 through Grade 12! We will be going to Lyndon Diner and then bowling on Sat., May 21 at 9:00 am - invite your friends. Parents and grandparents - invite your teens and grandkids! Please sign up in the lower foyer!

We are continuing our study in the book of Revelation.
We ended last week halfway through chapter 13.

The beast rises to power through what the Bible calls the harlot or prostitute or the immoral woman.
This harlot is the apostate church. It’s not any one denomination or faith, but a culmination of all who deny Christ and God’s truth.
But when the beast gets to full power, he will destroy the harlot, or the false religion and set up his own satanic religion.

Back to where we left off in Revelation 13 . . .
What this is saying is that if you chose to fall into the ways of the enemy, if you chose to go into his captivity, then you will go into that captivity and stay there and receive judgment for it.
If you think that it will all work out in the end, and that somehow, everything will turn out ok, or that you will escape judgment, you are mistaken.

The law of sowing and reaping. What did Jesus say about this?
The agents of the beast will capture and kill all those who refuse the mark, but in the end, they also will be destroyed.
But it also says that those who refuse the mark cannot fight back. They probably won’t be able to anyways.

They must endure what is coming, because while their pain is real, it will be short lived but eternity will be forever.
This second beast is also called the false prophet. He will assist the beast by directing the world to worship the first beast.
He is the one who will deceive the world by performing deceptive miracles.
Notice the unholy trinity.

Fire from heaven-what does that sound like? Elijah? Although the prophets of Baal couldn’t do it, this guy can.
This fire didn’t burn anyone up like Elijah’s, but it was demonstration designed to impress the people and convince them that he is God.
The people “belonging to the world” are those who are the unbelievers.
He will deceive all of them.

The pharisee’s asked Jesus to do miracles to prove himself, but he refused.
The false prophet will do miracles and the people will follow him.
That’s why every miracle needs to be verified and must point people to Jesus. If it doesn’t, then it’s a satanic miracle designed to draw people away.

The Holy Spirit’s job is to point people to Christ, the false prophet’s job is to point people to the anti-Christ.
He will promote an “ecumenical religion” which is a blending of all faiths and beliefs into one that will worship the anti-Christ.

Remember we said this is an imitation of the resurrection of Christ?
He only appeared to be dead and was revived, not resurrected.
This is probably similar to the one in Daniel erected by Nebuchadnezzar so the people would worship him (the statue)

But this guy sets it up in the temple that has been rebuilt in the first 3 ½ years.
We said that God is the only author of life, and all throughout the Bible, God is referred to as Creator and redeemer.
The word Hebrew “BARA” which means to create something from nothing is never used in reference to anyone other than God.

The economic pressure will be brought to bear and this will convince many to take the mark.
We think now, it will be easy to not take it, but how long will you hold out if your child is starving to death and is certainly going to suffer if you can’t get food, water, or medicine?
The pressure will be immense.
It also means if you have a business, you won’t be able to sell your goods, so again you will lose your business and eventually starve to death.

An anti-Christian system is all around us and we as believers must not be a part of it.
We need to be sure that we are worshipping the true God.
What do we value more than our relationship with God?
And finally, we need to be found faithful in these last days.
