Joel 2:28-29 NLT
28 "... I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.

We can be free from the power of sin and condemnation and nothing - nothing! - can separate us from the love of God.

To the degree we understand our sinfulness is to the same degree we love and appreciate what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Very simply, if we don’t see our sinfulness, we won’t see our need for a Savior.

1. Believe - Believe God’s truth and come under It.

God now only sees the righteousness of Jesus when He looks at us. The follower of Jesus has been completely liberated from sin and death!

2. Belong - Knowing we have been totally accepted into the family of God.

3. Become - Out of the deep security of knowing we belong to God, we move forward.

BIG IDEA:
The Holy Spirit frees us from the power of sin and condemnation. Nothing will separate us from the love of God.

Choose one or two questions for your group to discuss as time allows.
▶ Read John 14:16-18. What are some of the roles the Holy Spirit plays in our lives?

▶ Read Romans 8:1-4. In your own words, how would you explain why believers do not live in condemnation?

▶ Read Romans 8:37-39. Share about a time when you have felt challenged to see or receive God’s love.

▶ What are some ways you feel personally assured of God’s love?

ACTIVATE:
Spend a moment in silence to consider your response, then share your decision with the group.

Read Ephesians 2:10. Ask God to show you where you are reflecting the work of His glorious masterpiece in your life, and share it with your group.

PRAY:
Thank God for the highs shared and lift up the lows.

Intentionally ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself more and more to each of us and our church family during this series.
