Easter 2022 - Resurrection on Trial
The Plan – Four Tasks To Accomplish Today
First, we’ll look at one of the premiere NT passages on the resurrection – 1 Corinthians 15:3-11. Paul quoted an established creed that had been assembled within 5 years of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Second, there’s a phrase he uses in verse 4 - raised on the third day according to the Scriptures… This reminds us of what Jesus said in Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Jewish frame of reference: it could be any part of three days, three nights. There’s a problem. You can’t get three nights with a Friday crucifixion. Contrary to a tidal wave of tradition, He wasn’t crucified on a Friday; it was Thursday.

Third, Paul shows you how to live out Easter and the resurrection in your everyday life in verses 9-11 of our passage today. We’ll look at the practicals and the applicational to wrap things up in the message.

Fourth, you are going to hear from and bear witness to the baptisms of several people who have embraced this ancient creed, who believe the Gospels, and who now want to live out Easter life.
