Question we ask: What do I get out of this?
In the first century, Passover was an annual reminder the Jewish people needed another Moses
The crowd was more enamored with the signs than who the signs pointed to
Have you said, “I gave up because I wasn’t getting anything out of it.”
If it is about us getting something out of it, we are just consumers
5000 men: Size of a Roman legion
Do you realize what the SIGN is pointing to?
Are you just in it for what you can get out of it?
Important question for us to ask: “Who is this Jesus?”
What Jesus offers is beyond the temporary
Jesus asks us: "Who do you believe I am?"
In a moment of clarity, the people shifted their focus from the sign to the person the sign pointed towards
Stop trying to get something. Simply start saying “yes" to Jesus
“Not my will, but thy will be done."
Jesus’ followers (not consumers), are the ones who actually change the world
Matthew 15:32-39 talks about a time Jesus fed 4000 men
