Talk it Over - Sermon Discussion
Open
Looking back at your notes from this Sunday, talk about what stood out to you in the message. Was there something that was especially helpful, challenging, convicting, or hard to grasp?
What has been your past experience with the book of Revelation? How have the things that you have seen, read, been taught, affected how you look at this book?
Additional Scripture & Next Steps
In Matthew 27:27-54 we have an account of the crucifixion of Christ. Read this passage alongside of Revelation 1:12-16. Why do you think John uses poetic language to describe the risen Lord Jesus?
Read 2 Kings 6:13-18 we have a story of the boldness Elisha had because he could see what no one else could. Read Revelation 1:12-13. How do you think the knowledge that the risen powerful Lord Jesus was standing with them (in the middle of the lampstands) affected the way they faced difficulties and hardships? How does/should it impact us?
Read Acts 1:6-11. Have you ever seen others or found yourself staring into heaven instead of doing what Jesus calls us to do? How can Revelation shake us out of that as the angels shook them?
Has there been a time in the last few months you needed the assurance of the presence of the risen Lord Jesus?
