Every fire, if left alone, will eventually diminish and fade to ashes. For a fire to remain alive and blazing, it demands new fuel added to it, as well as someone attending to it, stirring it and fanning it into flame.
So it is with our life in Christ. While you may have been on fire for the Lord in the past, unless you have been “attending to the flame” and stirring your spiritual walk, your fire will diminish into the ashes of the past.
As we begin a new year, we want to focus on helping you to stir the spiritual fire in your life. 2 Timothy 1:6 says, “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God...”
It's time to REIGNITE! Rekindle your passion for God!

Everywhere I go, everyone I talk to, everything I see, reinforces over and over the fact that we are currently living in very difficult times. The pandemic, the economy, the politics, the weather... the list goes on and on. You can feel the stress and the strain in people’s lives. I expect that you, too, have experienced at least to some degree these very things.
Know that you are not alone.
One of the most overlooked passages in the Bible is found in Acts 27, when during Paul’s final journey, there was such a horrendous storm at sea that they had not seen the sun during the day or the stars at night for many days. In verse 27, we read these pointed words - “we finally gave up all hope of being saved.”
Are you in that storm now? Have you given up all hope?
Without hope, you will never rekindle your passion for God. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1 that “faith is the substance of things hoped for.” Without hope, your faith is without substance!
How can you put substance back into your faith? Is there anything you can do to renew your hope? Absolutely!
Throughout January, our theme is “REIGNITE,” helping you to “Rekindle Your Passion For God.” This Sunday we continue with the second message of the series, “Renewing Your Hope.” You will not want to miss this life-changing message!

Without hope, you can never Rekindle your Passion for God.
To renew our hope, we must discover what are the sources of our hope!
Leviticus 26:44 - Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the LORD their God.
Retaining hope while we suffer shows we understand God’s merciful ways of relating to his people.
Mark 5:35-36 - While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher any more?” Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
The next time you feel hopeless and afraid, look at your problem from Jesus’ point of view. He is the source of all hope and promise.
Romans 5:1-2 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
We must remember all that God has done for us!
James 1:2-4 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
1 Peter 1:6-7 - In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 - Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
•RECOGNIZE God’s faithfulness
•TRUST Christ
•REMEMBER what God has done
•DEPEND on God in difficulties
•LOOK AHEAD to His return

At Valley Chapel, we want to GROW – truly grow! But, what does it mean to grow? True growth isn’t simply getting bigger! Much more than getting bigger is becoming more like Christ. In Ephesians 4:15, we read “…speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.” We want our church to GROW in maturity to match the head – Jesus Christ. Our mission statement is built around the acronym G.R.O.W....
