Does your life prove that you live, breathe and fight from a place of VICTORY? Or does it prove to the world that there is no need to believe in Christ or go to His church because your life doesn’t look any different than your critics?
Paul...
...course correction in much of his first 11 chapters.
...here in 12, his topic is the Holy Spirit and His gifts in your life.
...vitally important to the believer is their belief about the Holy Spirit.
...equally important is our ability to know and use the gifts He’s given us.
1 Corinthians 12:1-3...
1 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.”
Most of the things that matter most, if we forget to do them, will show up quite soon in our lives!

- Personal Hygiene
- Personal Health
- Personal Holiness

...There is so much power in simply remembering to do the right and the best things for our lives.
1. We REIGNITE when we remember His PRESENCE!

1 Corinthians 12:1...
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.." **uniformed is unaware in some version
What do the Gospels remind us about the Holy Spirit?
Matthew 28:19...He’s part of the Trinity that calls us to go and make disciples.

Luke 3...He descended on Jesus like a dove at His baptism.

Luke 4...He was with Jesus as He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness.

What did Jesus say about the Holy Spirit?
John 6:63...
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

John 14:16-17...
16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

John 14:25-27...
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 15:26...
“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about Me.

John 16:13...
“When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.”
2. We REIGNITE when we remember His PROMISE!

1 Corinthians 12:2...
You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit—was promised from the beginning.
God promised this pouring out of His Spirit on His people in the Old Testament:

Isaiah 44:3...
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants"

Joel 2:28-32...
“I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days...And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”

This promise was lived out in the Gospels with Jesus in person. But, this promise was fulfilled at Pentecost.

Acts 2:2-4...
“Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

And immediately His work began the church at work...

Acts 2:38-41...
38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
How’s His promise paying off in your life? Your family-life? Your church-life?
"The greatest victories we will have are those won minute-by-minute, day-by-day in surrender to the Holy Spirit’s promise in our lives. Listening to His voice speaking truth, giving direction and giving encouragement will get us through each and every battle we will face.”
3. We REIGNITE when we remember His POWER.

1 Corinthians 12:3...
'Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.
His Power in us changes everything...

- POWER is used 250 times in Scripture.

It’s SUPERNATURAL Power
2 Timothy 1:6-7...
6 “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame (RE-IGNITE) the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

It’s SHARED Power
2 Timothy 1:8...
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,

It’s SAVING Power
2 Timothy 1:9-12...
9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 10 and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, 12 which is why I suffer as I do.

It’s STAYING Power
2 Timothy 1:12-14...
12 But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me. 13 Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.

Do you have that kind of POWER in you?
hey
