Welcome!

Welcome to Community Bible Church! Since our inception in 1990, our purpose has been to “reaching, teaching, helping and going in Jesus’ name,” because of the vision Jesus gave us in the Great Commission: “Go into all the world making disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” We are passionate about the mission and vision the Lord has given us. In our house, we initiate and celebrate life change in Jesus’ name. By providing opportunities for members to mature, minister, and go on mission, we help them live with eternal purpose.

If you are a first time guest, we invite you to text "Guest" to (210) 762-4747. Join us in taking the gospel to the whole world!

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. The Mission of God Demonstrated:“Jesus said, For the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”(Luke 19:10)
A. Creation: “In the beginning, God” (Genesis 1:1)
B. Fall:“Did God actually say” (Genesis 3:1)
C. Redemption:“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the work of the devil.”(1 John 3:8)
D. Restoration:“Behold, I AM making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5)

Discussion Question: This is the story of the Gospel, the Good News. And this is our mission, to go and tell others the Good News of Jesus Christ. The very idea that Creator God would take on flesh to redeme His fallen creation and ultimately restore them. When was the last time you reflected upon the gravity and scope of the Gospel message? Please spend a few moments in silence before The LORD. Take time to reflect upon the glorious gift of salvation. Feel free to share with group members what The LORD revealed to you.

2. The Mission of God of Defined: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
A. Claim people unto Himself:“But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
B. Call people to live beyond themselves: (Gal. 2:20, Eph. 2:10, 2 Cor. 5:20)

Discussion Question: Read Psalm 8 aloud. In light of sitting in His presence and pondering scope of His love as we reflected on the Good News of Jesus, how does Psalm 8:4 strike you? As you pair this verse with the others listed above, does it become clear that we were called out of darkness and into His light for purposes beyond merely living? As you fast and pray, ask God to reveal someone in your circle of influence that needs good news in their life. How can you be that good news for them? Perhaps someone in your group just needs to be reassured and reminded of their worth and value in the Kingdom.

4. The Mission of God Delivered: We CHAMPION every person to be the good news of JESUS in every place!

Discussion Question: Who are you championing? Who champions you? Who needs you to champion them? It is our mission at CBC to champion every person to be the Good News of Jesus in every place. Now go and be good news!
