Fellowship of the Parks

Welcome to Fellowship of the Parks
Fellowship of the Parks is a church where everyone can find a family. We are made up of people from all walks of life, who come together to worship God. We have a big heart for adoption and caring for orphans. We are passionate about creating healthy marriages. We believe God’s plan for each person is that they would be adopted into His family through faith and, in turn, they would care for the people around them.

Digging Deeper:
This week we discussed Joseph, who isn’t discussed a whole lot in the Bible, but plays an incredibly important role. The decisions that Joseph makes had the potential to alter the Christmas Story as we know it today. As you read the following Scripture, discuss as a group what was most likely going through Joseph’s head.
Read Matthew 1:18-24

In this section of Scripture where Joseph accepts Jesus as his son, do you think you would have reacted the same way as Joseph? While we often overlook the significance of Joseph’s decisions, these verses speak volumes about his character. He is put in an extremely uncomfortable and difficult situation.
What are some takeaways all of us can learn from Joseph and this situation in our own lives? What are some character traits that Joseph displays?

Once again, Joseph is put into another incredible situation. His immediate reaction saves the life of Jesus. Take a moment to break these two verses down. In the middle of the night, Joseph essentially uproots his family. They don’t just go next door; they go to Egypt.
Do you trust God to the same level that Joseph does in these situations? Is there something that God has been putting on your heart that you have been pushing aside?

Application:
Being faithful to God’s direction can often be a tug of war between our own wants and desires and His. This week, the challenge is to be incredibly faithful to what God is pushing you to do and trust that He has your back!
