Christmas 2021
It happens every year about this time. In fact, Christmas Day will fall on the 25th of December this time around...kinda like always (LOL!). How will you spent the time this year as we approach Christmas Day? There will be time for decorating, time for parties, time for shopping, time for holiday movies and television programs, time to look at the lights, time to gather with family, time to eat...etc. You get the picture. Will you make time for Jesus? Join us this Christmas season as Pastor Coppock challenges us to think about Jesus. This week's message is titled, "It's Christmas Time."

“Do you value Christmas time?”
I. Time for Redemption
A. Acts 3:18, But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled. 20 And He shall send Jesus Christ….
1. 3:20 It was prophesied that God would send Jesus!
2. 3:18 God had prophesied a Messiah that should suffer.
483 (Jewish) years before the cross. A perfect prophecy of the death of Jesus. (Should signal the Jews!)
B. Look for a “cutting off” of a prominent Jewish man about 30 years AD! (Hey! Jesus!)
1. The prophecy of redemption is fulfilled in Jesus. Galatians 4:4, But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
2. Redemption through Jesus must be accepted. Hebrews 2:3, How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; ...9 But we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
"You CAN fail to value this timely gift!”
II. Time for Repentance
A. Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out….
1. 3:19 Because Jesus has come to redeem mankind, we are called to repentance.
2. 3:20 God sends Jesus to us as the Messiah!
3. The coming of Jesus is a command to repent. Mark 1:14, ...Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the Gospel.
4. God wants us to turn to Jesus. Acts 17:30, And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: 31 Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by That Man Whom He hath ordained….
“When will you EVER have a convenient season if it is not now?!”
III. Time for Refreshment
A. Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you….
1. 3:19 Because Jesus has come to redeem mankind, we are called to repentance.
2. 3:20 This repentance will bring a time of refreshment.
“Repentance is refreshing!”
3. All of creation yearns for the refreshment that only comes through salvation in Jesus! Romans 8:22, For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but …we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
“The most downtrodden of people find refreshment in Jesus!”
C. How can I prepare myself for this time-limited opportunity?
1. Seek God while you still have the desire. Psalm 32:6, For this shall every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found….
2. Receive Him immediately! 2 Corinthians 6:1, ...receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 ...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (The time is now!)
3. Be serious about opportunities to learn about Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:5, Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
“Pay attention to Christmas!”
