Sermon Notes / November 20-21, 2021
I am the Door
Jesus is speaking of two present realities.
1) The Law will not save. It only shows our need for a Savior.
2) We have an enemy that wants to steal us from God, slaughter and destroy us.
Salvation through Jesus provides the opposite of what the thief does.
1. Jesus comes to give.
2. Jesus comes to rescue.
(Ephesians 2:1-5, Colossians 2:13-15)
3. Jesus comes to restore.
(Psalm 51)
Discussion Questions:
1. Jesus comes to give! What are things that Jesus came to give us, that can only be found in Him?
2. Jesus comes to rescue! What did Jesus rescue us from? How have you seen that in your own life, or the life of your family?
3. Jesus comes to restore! In what ways has Jesus restored you? Jesus is the door to our rescue and restoration. Have you chosen to walk through that door, and surrender your life to His Lordship?
