OVERFLOW Part 1: More Blessed Than We Imagine or Deserve



You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
(Psalm 23:5)

Two faulty Christian perspectives of God’s blessings:

· Poverty Mindset

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
(1 Timothy 6:17)

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
(James 1:16-17)


· Prosperity Mindset

…but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
(Mark 4:19)

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
(Matthew 6:24)


2. Blessings come in a _____________________ .

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Thanksgiving Baskets

We want to partner with you to bless families in need in our community with a Thanksgiving Basket! Our goal is to give 200 turkeys along with all the fixings to families who would otherwise go without. Stop by the foyer table to see how you can donate food items or funds. If you are a family in need of a basket, let us know at the foyer table or call the Care Center at 392-8855.


TONIGHT! Student Ministry Halloween Party
6:00-8:30pm, NextGen Worship
Center: All middle school and high school students 5th -12th grades are invited to come and play games, enjoy snacks, and share in all sorts of fun. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Bring your friends to this free event and get a prize!
