Today, we finish our series, "Face to Face with God".

Through this series, we have been looking at a number of one on one, personal encounters through the book of Matthew.

Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus is the exact representation of God. Even Jesus Himself noted that seeing Him is to see the Father.

As we explore these face to face encounters with the person of Jesus, we will gain an insight into the very nature of God.

This week, join us as we look at not only the importance of the event of the resurrection, but also our response.
We often hear it said that 'time is fleeting'. The idea here is that we should endeavour to find that which is important, and pursue it, rather than miss an opportunity.

This story shows us an amazing sense of urgency at the news the women had just received. Not just of joy, but of joy in the face of fear.

How often do we receive good news? And how often is our first response to run out and tell others?

Do you feel a sense of urgency in regards to taking advantage of opportunities that are presented to you for the benefit of God's Kingdom? Or are you more fearful than joyous?
When we tip out a jigsaw puzzle, we sometimes feel overwhelmed. Almost like we don't entirely believe that the confused pieces we see in front of us will actually ever resemble anything like the picture on the box.

But we trust. We trust in those that made the jigsaw to have put all the pieces in. We trust that the picture on the box relates to the pieces inside.

In the same way, the women at the tomb did not know entirely what had just happened. But they had faith. Faith that Jesus had done what He said He would do. Faith that they did not need to see the whole picture to believe.

Do you ever struggle to believe that God is doing what He says he will do? Do you have difficulty trusting because you can't see the end game?
Talk about a surprise encounter. Although the women knew that Jesus wasn't in the tomb, I would suggest they didn't expect to bump into Him whilst travelling down the road.

It's probably not hard to recognise Jesus if you meet him face to face. But for those of us who have never seen the physical attributes of the Son of God, how do we recognise Him?

Maturity in our spiritual lives is a very important way that we can recognise the presence of God. Is maturity in your spiritual life a priority for you?
We are told to be strong. Strong in our work, strong in our heart, strong in our faith.

But here, we are shown incredible humility. At this time, when so many would have been asking for themselves, these women show humility in bowing at Jesus' feet and worshipping him for who He is.

JFK famously said "ask not what your Country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".

Are we more interested in serving, or being served? Which one more closely resembles true worship?
Instructions are a great thing. They guide us, tell us what is required, offer us hints and tips, and help us to get the most out of the item they are for.

Why then, so often, do we not read them?

We have the A-Z of God's plan right here in the bible. He has shared not only our history, but advice on flourishing in this life He has given us.

Have you read the instructions? More importantly, are you following them?

Life Group Discussion Questions Below

As our life groups gather this week, we have attached our reference verse and some questions to prompt a deeper discussion and search into this week's topic.

If you are not currently part of a life group, and would like to join a small group of like minded people in fellowship and connection during the week, please contact Nick on 0417472474 to register your interest.
1. Do we believe that our faith gives us the answers to the questions of life? If so, do we feel a sense of urgency when God provides us opportunities to reach others in His name?

2. Often we feel like we don't have the whole picture. Do you sometimes feel scared that you don't know enough to make an impact? Does that ever stop you taking even the first step?

3. Do you ever wonder if the voice you hear is actually God? How do you think you could build a spiritual maturity that would help you to be able to discern the voice of God over other voices that may be vying for our attention?

4. Humility can be difficult. Not least because we can end up proud of our humility. Do we seek for ways to serve others, or do we first seek our own comfort? Which do you feel is a better expression of true worship? Why?

5. If the bible is God's plan for us, then how often are we in the word? And do you trust in His provision of answers for those things you are going through?

6. Are you living for Him? How could we move further towards living a life that is entirely and completely for God?
Pray for your life group, and others you may feel led to pray for, that we may know God more, and grow ever closer to Him.
