Jesus Over All
So today as we deal with the subject of baptism, I want to look in the Word at the correlation of Jesus and water throughout the gospels. There are 5 distinct times that Jesus himself interacts with the very substance we are using today. And through analyzing Christ’s baptism, his calming the storm, walking on water, turning water into wine and declaring himself as living water, we will see his unique divine presence in history and his lordship over all of creation!

Big Idea: When we submit to the one who has control over the natural, we step into a life of the supernatural.

Baptism
Thought: Christ humbled himself in water baptism, revealing to John that he was the incarnation of God.
Application: What does this mean for us?
We must submit our lives to our Lord Jesus!
Walking on Water

Thought: Jesus reveals his lordship over creation by walking on water toward his disciples.
Application: What does that mean for us?
We will allow Jesus to show his lordship in our lives.
Calming the Storm
Thought: Jesus shows his lordship by calming the storm and revealign to his disciples their lack fo faith in his love and divinity.
Application: What does that mean for us?
We will not fear the world around us but will have faith in the God who controls the forces of nature.
Water into Wine
Thought: Jesus shows his divinity in the small miracle of turning water into wine.
Application: What does that mean for us?
We will believe in jesus for the small miracles because of his love and lordship.
Living Water
Thought: Jesus declares to the world that he is the living water for all of life.
Application: What does that mean for us?
We will drink the living water of life in Jesus and allow that life to flow through us.

Big Idea: When we submit to the one who has control over the natural, we step into a life of the supernatural.
