A. A Rejected King | An Anointed Shepherd
1. The Lord's instructions
2. Offerings vs. obedience
3. The last shall be first. David is anointed.
B. The Enemy's Forces Are Gathered
1. There are two forces at work.
2. There is a giant discouragement.
3. Discouragement stems from fear.
4. Caution protects; fear paralyzes.
C. The“Onlies” and Other Lies That Keep You from Your Calling
1. You are only what your family says you are.
2. You are only a young and/or inexperienced person.
3. There is only one way to do it, and you don’t have what it takes.
4. Only your outward appearance matters.
D. Dedication During Discouragement
1. Family opposition: Get outside of your bubble.
2. Age/experience: Don’t minimize what God has done in and for you.
3. Methods: There is more than one way to skin a Philistine.
4. Appearance: God looks at the heart.
