Culling - reducing an animal population through slaughter
1. A lot of folks who claim to be full of faith:


a. are living in fear but ...


b. still think they are full of faith
2. They state that too much is going around.
3. But, what they say they believe...


a. doesn’t line up with their actions
4. You can’t say you believe He is a:


a. healer and protector


b. and be afraid you might catch something


c. example - family weeping for missing church
5. Even during tough times, we should trust God.
6. During tough times, we should:


a. motivate one another


b. not promote fear


c. especially by our way of seeing things
7. But, as we can see:


a. some folks believe staying away


b. seems to be the solution
8. Is this trusting the Word?
9. Allow me to offer you another perspective?
10. In the Middle East:


a. shepherds name their sheep


b. they recognize their own name


c. even when flocks are mingled
11. The father of the family would choose a “pet lamb“.


a. this lamb was to be offered to God during the Passover Feast


b. that lamb that would represent their family
12. This symbolizes Jesus as God’s chosen lamb.
13. Since Exodus, a lamb was stretched on two sticks.
14. From a top view, it looked like a lamb crucified on two sticks.
15. Families would bring a bronze name tag.


a. that had the family name on it


b. tied it around the neck of the pet lamb
16. They wanted God to know


a. which family


b. the lamb represented
17. What does it mean to us?
18. Jesus is the Father's pet Lamb.
19. Pilate wrote an inscription and placed it on the cross.
20. It is written in three different languages, Hebrew, Greek and Latin.
21. God was placing His name on His pet lamb.
22. Jews would take the first letter of each word and make an acrostic.
23. Ever seen a cross with I N R I written on it?
24. Latin for JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.


I = J, Latin has no letter J


N = N, for Nazareth


R = Rex, Latin for King


I = Jews, Latin has no J
25. The Romans read it in Latin.


a. the Jews would read it in Hebrew


b. Greek, the common tongue of that day
26. The Jews got mad when they read it:


a. the Hebrews read from right to left, not like we do
27. To the Jews, it read in Hebrew:


a. Yeshua Hanatzri Vemelech Hayhoodem


b. this forms the acrostic Y H V H.


c. we say Yahweh/Jehovah


d. this is a tetragrammaton


e. the tetragrammaton is the holy, unspeakable name of God


f. used over 6000 x in Bible


g. it infuriated the Jews
28. Pilate was God’s pen that wrote


a. the name of God


b. above the Father’s pet Lamb
29. We are God’s family.


a. He supplied the Lamb


b. He put His name on the Lamb
30. How does this apply to you?
Rev. 2:17...white stone with new name


a. white stone = victors’ stone


b. new name = you will be a new lamb in the heavenly family
31. But what does that have to do with fear and hiding?
32. A wicked heart of unbelief...


a. found in Hebrews 3:12


b. runbelief makes you run


c. or we can be bold as lions
It’s really simple...
BEFORE GOD,
YOU ARE A LAMB
BEFORE THE devil,
YOU ARE A LION!
