Many Christians spend too much time being shocked and angry that God does not deliver what He never promised, namely, a life without suffering.
God is sovereign over our suffering. He not only allows it to take place, He uses it for our good and His glory.
Progressive sanctification and the perseverance of the saints grows out of the soil of suffering.
The pathway to Christian growth and to our final destination is paved with stones of suffering.
When Christians face suffering, we do not have a heart with sorrow upon sorrow, but sorrow mingled with joy.
Suffering is a universal experience of all believers, which means you are not alone.
God loves you too much to leave you like you are, so He is willing to let you go through the fire so that you might come out more like Him on the other side.
God will lead you down pathways you do not want to go down to transform you into what you could never become on your own.
Steadfastness is consistently moving forward toward a fixed direction.
Steadfastness is consistently living for Jesus, even in the midst of suffering, by serving His people through the local church.
The key to joy in suffering and steadfastness, resulting in lacking nothing, is to combat the lies that live inside of our minds.
The pathway to Christian growth and to our final destination is paved with stones of suffering, but take heart—there are also stones of joy.
