Title: Onesimus & Philemon
Scripture: Philemon 1
Speaker: Nathan Miller, NathanM@ChristCommunityKC.org
Philemon, what are you going to do?
"Paul...uses familial language, calling Philemon his brother. The point is clear. Oneness in Christ transforms relationships. Society values those with power and status. Christians treat all people -- slave, free, or prisoner -- as family. This idea that slaves and masters are family undermines slavery. Who would enslave a brother or sister?"

- Esau McCaulley, Reading While Black
Grace turns the world upside down.
Grace changes you.
Grace changes every relationship.
"Onesimus, a man of inexpressible love, and your bishop...whom I pray you by Jesus Christ to love, and that you would all seek to be like him. And blessed be He who has granted unto you, being worthy, to obtain such an excellent bishop."

- Letter of Ignatius to the Ephesians, 110 AD
