What did He say?

If your heart ain't right with God, then you ain't going to heaven.

Real Talk #1: We are all guilty of murder (vs. 22)
- Ex. 20:13
- at the root of murder is anger
- your anger can send you to hell (face judgment)

Is anger wrong?
a. Righteous anger (Matthew 21, Ephesians 4:26)
b. Unrighteous anger (the root is pride)

1 John 3:15
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Real Talk #2: We see your heart when we hear your mouth (vs. 22)
- Matthew 15:19 out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks
- your words are the greatest indicator of the condition of your heart

James 3:6
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell
- some of our words are being set on fire by hell itself
- we will face judgment for our words

Real Talk #3: You can’t be right with God and wrong with people (vs. 23-24)
23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
- Church would be empty today if everyone obeyed this command
