To say life is complicated would be an oversimplification of life to say the least! I’ve counseled many who find themselves frustrated in life because where they are at whatever juncture they are is not where they thought they might be.
All to often we find ourselves in this same predicament. Hence the impulse buys or the midlife crisis convertible, or the drastic hair cut and color changes… we all scream out “I’m still here, I’m still cool, I still fit in… There is still a level of hip-n-e-s-s…isn’t there?”
Then We go through things in life that we never think of as a child!
When I grow up…I want to struggle with alcohol!
When I grow up…I want it to be difficult to pay the bills!
When I grow up…I want my kids to spite me!
SAID NO ONE EVER!
The list could go on and on…
Difficult circumstances become a way of life. And let’s be real, a lot of times… these difficult seasons get the best of some and they make choices that sometimes include taking their own lives. Sometimes these circumstances take us to a place that they feel—THEY FEEL—unbearable!
Again I point to Paul and His situation we are reading this text from. In prison, still preaching and encouraging the church of Philippi to have joy and be happy not only for him but in Christ!
We have so much to learn from the word still don’t we!!?!
