We're called to be peace-makers not just peacekeepers or appeasers.
Being a peacemaker would have been seen as a radical statement in a world filled with violence, injustice, hardship, ethnic conflict
Jesus made peace by shedding his blood so that we could be presented as holy, faultless and blamelessbefore him.
It is only by the grace of God that we get to be in his presence in heaven.
Need peacemakers who build bridges (reconciliation) not walls. This is the gospel message and mission - Go and make disciples of all nations (ethnicities - belonging together as one).
Children of God - We benefit from our "Name, Image and Likeness".
Name: We are called the children of God
Image: We are made in the image of God.
Likeness: We should be like God
You cannot read Jesus, Paul, Peter or James without noticing the cost of discipleship.
Earthly safety, ease and comfort are not promises of kingdom of God living on this earth. Don't envy those that seem to be pain-free, affliction-free, poverty-free in this life.
As a matter of fact persecution and trials are a certificate of authenticity for children of God.
We have to look at things from an eternal perspective. That is our kingdom reality. You have to believe that in order to understand God's true and full blessing.
God's presence is our good. That is the good life now and forever more!
