Simply put, God hates poverty and did NOT intend it for his image bearers, yet as long as the Lord tarries the poor will be with us.

Spiritual poverty leads to discontentment regardless of how much you have in the bank and leads the physically poor to despair, sin, and walk in hopelessness.
