The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus died to save us from the penalty of sin.

Perish = (Ah-pol-del-vee) - destroy utterly, permanent cancel

Every time someone gives their life to Jesus the Kingdom advances.

3 Reasons to Share Your Faith

1. People are going to Hell

Hell: Hell is the state where those who do not have faith in Christ are condemned to suffer eternally.

Greek word for Hell & Sheol: GE-HENNA= Realm of the dead. Used 65 times.

Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven

Good people don’t go to Heaven, saved people go to Heaven.

Warning: People you love are going to Hell, do you care?

Practical Advice
Ask the Holy Spirit what to do to share Jesus with people

14 But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?

What is an evangelist?

A spokesperson for the church in proclaiming the gospel to the world.

Evangelist is mentioned 3 times in the New Testament:
- Ephesians 4:1-12
- Acts 1:21-22
- Acts 21:8

Evangelism is mentioned all throughout the Word.

The Great Commission
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

v. 18) “them” = Everyone there

One verse taken out of context:

1 Timothy 2:12 ESV
I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Women be silent in the Church… not out of the Church?

This is not a universal prohibition.

If this was a universal prohibition, then why did Paul celebrate and endorse so many women in ministry?

· Philippians 4:3 = Paul celebrating women in ministry
Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

· Titus 2:3 = Women Teachers
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,

· Proverbs 31:26 = Honors women teachers
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and faithful instruction [teaching] is on her tongue.

· Psalm 68:12 = God shall scatter His enemies
The Lord gives the word; the women who announce the news are a great host [Army]:

· Acts 18:24-26 = Paul celebrating women instructing great men

1 Timothy EXPLAINED

Contextualization is a major key to hermeneutics.
Hermeneutics - Method of interpreting texts.

- Unless people take the time to properly understand the context in which a thing was written, people reach bizarre conclusions (like women must cover their head, women can’t teach, women can’t wear jewelry, women can’t cut their hair, church services should be done with snakes.)

- Paul tells women not to wear gold or have short hair (1 Timothy 2:9). It was addressing a specific cultural issue (prostitution).

- Example: Paul takes Timothy (as an adult) to get circumcised in the temple. I don’t hear a lot of people advocating for adult circumcision for church membership.

- The Apostle Paul was addressing a specific local church and the cultural issues they were having. It wasn’t meant to be understood as a mandate for all churches.

- The Church of Ephesus was having issues because women of the ancient world weren’t educated.

- False teaching arose and unlearned women were susceptible to false doctrines.

- So were unlearned men.

Titus 1:10-11 ESV
10For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. 11They must be silenced [to stop the mouth], since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.

Don’t let uneducated, chaotic, untrained, unprofessional, out of order, not submitted folks teach in the church & abuse authority

Women in Ministry

- Junia (Romans 16:7) - Apostolic leader: “high level church leaders”
- Priscilla - woman teacher
- Phoebe & Anna - Phillip’s daughters were a few women prophets
- Mary was the first witness of the Resurrection (Matthew 28)

If women don’t enter Supernatural Evangelism, then only 50% of Christ followers are fulfilling the Great Commission.

They weren’t having church daily, they were having daily encounters.

The ninth hour = 3PM

- The traditions of later Judaism had fixed the third, the sixth, and the ninth hours of each day as times for private prayer.

People who don’t know God daily encounter the wrong thing.

And you also must testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

Your qualification for witnessing is your testimony.

You don’t have to be a spiritual gangster. You simply give away what you have.

They gave the man what they had… their relationship with the Lord.

Supernatural Evangelism takes place when you give away your relationship with God.

Two things happened:
He was taken into a Corporate Encounter and word spread to more people.

1. Invite people into your corporate encounters at church (Invite people to MC)
2. Take your daily encounters public (Share your Faith)
3. Tell the world about both (Use social media)

You can’t give people something you don’t have.
