Our God is unfathomable, incomprehensible, and infinitely higher, wider, and deeper than any human understanding of who God is. Next Sunday, we will look closely at a single attribute of God, but today we look at who God is. In this series we explore the realm of theology, and we need a proper posture of knowing who God is.
Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV
1. We can know we are rightly seeing God when we respond to God with humility.

2. When we reflect rightly upon the nature of God, our theology produces doxology.

1. Our human limitations can hinder us from seeing clearly who God is.
2. Our preferences can lead us to be selective in what we think about God.
3. Our idolatrous hearts can distort God into someone or something He is not.
Are you seeing God clearly? Or is our vision distorted by the cataracts of the past or the blind spots of our sin? I pray these next twelve weeks that God’s Word will correct our distorted vision so that we see God clearly for all that God is.
Are you guilty of treating God like the buffet at a restaurant? Are we picking and choosing what we like about God, letting our preferences dictate the attributes of God that we prefer to consume? Because of this are we avoiding the attributes of God that are hard to understand or that are hard to swallow?
Are you making God into someone or something that God is not? Are we putting other people and places in God’s place and taking God off His throne?
