Freedom (Week 3)

Freedom (Week 3)

This four-week series takes a look at what freedom in Christ entails. Does this exempt us of any spiritual responsibilities? Jesus says his “burden is light,” but does this mean that a Christian life will always be an easy one? This shows us that true freedom moves us toward obedience and debunks an unchristian understanding of freedom.

hey
Welcome to Week 3 of Freedom. (Turn to Galatians 5)

This morning we are going to be discussing how freedom and obedience can work together in the Christian life.
Big Idea: True freedom in Christ isn’t about what we can and can’t do; freedom moves us toward joyful obedience because of God’s love for us.

Galatians 5:1

1) God doesn't want to take away your freedom.
(Write notes below)
2) Obedience is a response to God's grace
(Write notes below)

Galatians 2:17-21

3) Freedom is God's Grace
(Write notes below)

Galatians 5:13-15

Application Point: Consider why you obey in your family, at work, In society, In church, And in your faith. Is it easy or hard for you to obey God’s law? Thank God that Jesus perfectly obeys God’s law on your behalf.
