JESUS DIDN’T DIE SO THAT WE WOULD COME TO CHURCH.
HE DIED SO THAT WE WOULD BECOME THE CHURCH.
A right is simply a moral or legal entitlement to have or obtain something, or to act in a certain way.
Responsibility is a duty or obligation for which someone is held accountable.
With every right, there is a responsibility that comes along with it. You can’t ever have rights without responsibility.
I. We have the RIGHT to WORK, but it is how we handle our RESPONSIBILITY that God is paying close attention to.
II. We have the RIGHT to a FAMILY, but it is how we handle our RESPONSIBILITY as a member of the FAMILY God is paying close attention to.
“Family is like a gymnasium designed to make love stronger—where you learn to love crazy people and are taught how to forgive.”

-Bishop T.D. Jakes
III. Rights v. Responsibilities in your own relationship with Jesus.
Whenever our own rights are emphasized at the expense of personal responsibility, you will find yourself increasingly focused on yourself, increasingly self-centered and egocentric. This is the complete opposite of the example of Christ.
"We want a faith that provides comfort without conviction, heaven without holiness, redemption without regeneration, and salvation without sanctification (being set apart). We accept all the benefits of grace without any requirement of obedience to God. We are content to receive good from the Lord even as we reject every call to labor."

-Michael Stark
