We need Christmas trees (with or without lights) and boxes of all sizes for Vacation Bible School! Tag your tree with your name and drop it off at church any time. We’ll take good care of it and return it to you after VBS. Bring your extra boxes—all shapes and sizes—too!

Gospel Bridge is part of Tyler's Juneteenth celebration, the annual celebration of emancipation. The Chancel Choir will be one of many choirs to perform, and they will all unite to sing a mass gospel song. All ages are invited to attend this free event. There will be a full buffet including barbecue, fried fish, fried chicken, collard greens, yams, purple hull peas, hot water cornbread and a variety of homemade desserts. Mission Week will be June 19-25. You can donate a case, a six pack, or individual bottles. Please bring your donations to the collection center shelf outside the Welcome Center.
During May & the first part of June, the Marvin Military Care Committee will be getting ready for an Independence Day mailing to our military personnel currently serving our country. If you know someone serving, please let us know. We love having military personnel who are in some way connected to Marvin, either a family member or just a friend of a friend! It’s so easy to do. We’ll have sign-up postcards at the Welcome Center. Or you can email his/her name & address to Shannon Pogue at spogue@marvinumc.com.
We’ll be helping Children’s Ministries prepare items for Vacation Bible School. This is a great opportunity to round-up your family after dinner and do a fun mission project that will make a big difference in the lives of others! You don’t need to sign up, just show up!

First Wednesdays of June (6/2), July (7/7) and August (8/4)
4 p.m., July 4, sanctuary. Hear works by John Williams and Mack Wilberg and enjoy a patriotic sing-along with readings from foundational American texts. The Marvin Chancel Choir, with Jonathan Story on the organ, full orchestra and heralding trumpets will be on hand to salute America in grand style. Come early to get a seat, as this event is always filled to capacity.
May 23 will be a day for us to look back on their lives as we prepare to send them boldly into their futures as ambassadors for Christ, wherever God is taking them.
