Please join this session of brainstorming ideas and envisioning our church's tomorrows. We will meet in the fellowship hall, and this session is open to anyone who is interested or has ideas as to where God is leading Centenary in the future.
Baby Bottle Blessings

Mother's Day begins the drive for donations to Two Hearts Pregnancy Care Center. Baby bottles are available for pick up at the church. Take a bottle home and fill it with your spare change over the next month and return the bottle on Father's Day, June 20th.

Alternatively, put a check in your bottle or send a check to the church with "Baby Bottle Blessings" noted on the memo line by Father's Day.

That's how easy it is to be a blessing and change the life of women and their children in unplanned pregnancy situations by supporting the ministry of Two Hearts Pregnancy Care Centers.
Mission Needs

Hillcrest Bruce Mission is currently in need of laundry detergent, deodorant, and shampoo. You can drop them off at the mission or the church, or if you need someone to deliver it for you, please contact the church office and we will make sure your donation is delivered. You can also go to hillcrestbrucemission.com to discover more ways you can love your neighbor.
New Testament 3 Month Daily Reading Plan

Beginning on April 1, we began to spend time in God's word together, and by June 30, we will have read through the New Testament. All it takes is about 10-15 minutes per day.

The reading plan is available through our website, www.ashlandcentenary.org, on the calendar page. Or you can pick up a paper copy at the church either in the sanctuary or the church office. Copies will also be mailed out with the weekly bulletin, both by email and by regular mail. If you don't get a copy any of those ways, let the church office know, and we'll get one to you.

This week's readings are as follows:

May 9 - Acts 21-23
May 10 - Acts 24-26
May 11 - Acts 27-28
May 12 - Romans 1-3
May 13 - Romans 4-6
May 14 - Romans 7-9
May 15 - Romans 10-12
May 16 - Romans 13-14

Opening Prayer
Come Into His Presence
Words and Music by Lynn Baird

Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart
and give Him praise, and give Him praise.
Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart,
your voices raise, your voices raise.
Give glory and honor and power unto Him,
Jesus, the name above all names.

Music by William B. Bradbury; Last stanza setting and choral ending by Doug Holck

Verse 1:
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' Name.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 2:
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 3:
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Verse 4:
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of
God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Prayer Concerns and Praises

During this time in our service, we share how God has blessed us and we take time to share the concerns of our heart. It is always good to come together as a faith family to share with each other and to pray for one another. If you would like, you can contact the church office or text Pastor John to let him know of your request, or you can fill out our Prayer Request Form on Google - see the link below. Psalm 56:9 reminds us, "The very moment I call to You for a father's help the tide of battle turns and my enemies flee. This one thing I know: God is on my side."

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power
and the glory, forever. Amen.

Verse 1:
Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee;
Thou changest not; thy compassions, they fail not.
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Verse 2:
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Verse 3:
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide.
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow -
Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside!

Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Benediction
