Hey Alexa - What happens when I die?

When we die, what’s on the INSIDE matters—not the OUTSIDE!

There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luke 16:19 - 21

Two most asked questions by people who have lost loved ones:
Where are they now?
How are they doing?

The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.
Luke 16:22 - 23

And he called out, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.”
Luke 16:24

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25 - 26

Wherever we go, our placement is ETERNAL

There are two places mentioned by Jesus in this story…

Hades—a place of torment!

But Abraham said, “Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.” And he said, “Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house—for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.”
Luke 16:25 - 28

And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:13 - 14

Abraham’s Side/Bosom—Paradise—a place of comfort

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling,
2 Corinthians 5:1–2

I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:50–52

Heaven is where JESUS is!

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:3

I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
Philippians 1:23

Be sure to HEAR today!

But Abraham said, “They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.” And he said, “No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent." He said to him, “If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.”
Luke 16:29 – 31
