Nearly 25 years ago, Gateway Church was launched, with the 5 purposes of the church as our foundation. Worship. Discipleship. Fellowship. Evangelism. Ministry. These purposes are from Jesus, in the Scripture we call the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. [If you haven't seen the original "Charter" from GTWY's beginning, stop by the office sometime!] This quote is included along with signatures of charter members. "A great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great church!". The 5 conversations in THE MARKS OF A DISCIPLE are designed to remind us of our purpose as followers of Jesus. Our hope is that everyone who commits to partner with GTWY Church...will pursue the Marks of a Disciple of Jesus Christ in their lives. Followers of Jesus make purposeful decisions. Last WKND, Pastor Scott laid out the FOUNDATIONAL MARK...to KNOW JESUS INTIMATELY. Without this reality in the life of a disciple, no other pursuit will make sense. This WKND, let's explore OBEYING GOD'S WORD COMPLETELY as evidence of a disciple's belief in Jesus Christ.
