The Resurrection of Jesus - John 20:3-9,19-23,27-29

The idea that people could communicate without being in the same room seemed impossible. From tele-graphs to emails; from landline phones to cell phones; and from face-to-face meetings to Zoom meetings. Today we are using electronic devices that will instantly transmit our voice, data, and self all the way around the world. While we might marvel at science and amazing things we once considered impossible, one thing remains impossible for us: to raise a man to life who has been dead for days after enduring an agonizing death. But what is impossible for us is not impossible for God. He performed this “impossible” miracle, and with it, God gave us something far greater than the most technologically advanced device!

Question: What are some things once thought impossible that have become a reality?
While we might marvel at science and amazing things we once considered impossible, one thing remains impossible for us: to raise a man to life who has been dead for days after enduring an agonizing death.
What is impossible for us is possible with God.
Jesus is the living Lord of life.
MAIN POINT: New life is possible when we trust in the risen Christ.
POINT #1: The empty tomb proves Jesus is alive.
Remember that Jesus has risen from the dead and reigns today!
POINT #2: The resurrection provides us forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
We are justified because of the resurrection.
We have eternal life because of the resurrection.
POINT #3: Jesus proved His resurrection.
Jesus appeared to His disciples.
POINT #4: Jesus commissions and empowers us to tell others of the risen Christ.
POINT #5: We are blessed when we believe Jesus is alive.
The resurrection turns our doubt to faith in Christ.
Jesus’ death is a planting that produces new life.
Challenge: What will you do with the truth that new life is possible because Jesus is alive?
