Healing: The Power of Community in Healing
Healing. Jesus started his work on earth with the declaration of the "Kingdom of God is at hand." What that means, is that Jesus' authority is going to be demonstrated over nature, over evil spirits, over financial lack, and primarily through healing those will all kinds of sickness. In this series, we are going to be exploring healing and our belief is that we are going to see healing.

John Wimber's vision after the first healing in the Vineyard Church
“It’s my mercy, John,” he felt the Lord say. “For some, it’s a blessing, but for others, it’s a hindrance. There’s plenty for everyone.”

"When sick people came over to mass, they got blamed for their ills. On Sunday after mass, the sick came in scores crying for help and words were all they got. "You have sinned and God is afflicting you. Thank Him, you will suffer so much less torment in the age to come.“

“As the early church became worldly with the loss of spiritual vitality and power some Christians [began to believe]…that: “If God uses you to heal, it is a sign of purity” and “God only uses holy people (saints) to heal the sick.” A shift took place in healing ministry: from the many to the few was first from ordinary believers to deacons and elders; then to ordained priests; then only to priests who received permission from the Bishop; and then to authorized exorcists and those recognized as holy."
