COLOSSIANS 3: A NEW WAY OF LIVING
“Our New Identity In Christ”
Colossians 3:1-4
“Sometimes we have to sacrifice the lower (the old) to gain the higher (the new)” JM/TB
“See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not see it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
JESUS PRESENTS A NEW WAY OF LIVING
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
LET’S GET TO IT AND STAY WITH THIS NEW WAY!
1. A New Identity: Who you are IN CHRIST
“…for you have died and your life is now hidden in Christ.”
Vs 3
*Christ died: we died with him and IDENTIFY WITH HIM
*SUBSTITUTION- He died in our place (3:3)
*Our new identity is IN CHRIST/FOLLOWERS OF JESUS
2. A New Desire: For what are you LONGING
“Set your heart on things above…not on earthly things…Christ who is your life…:” Vs 3:1, 4
*What do you long for or desire that you think will give you life? ___________________
*How would others fill in this blank about you?
You live for _____________________________
A New Focus” What has your ATTENTION
“Set your minds on things above not on earthly things.” Vs 2
*What are things above? ________________________
*Why does that matter?
“As a man thinks so he is “ Proverbs 23:7
“Take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
A New Source Of Life: CHRIST JESUS
“When Christ who is your life appears, then you will appear with him in glory.” Vs 4
*When the Lord Jesus appears at the 2
*When Jesus appears in YOUR LIFE (Colossians 1:27)

WHAT IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT TODAY?
Speak your new identity: I AM IN CHRIST
