Matthew 10:19-20 (MSG)
And don't worry about what you'll say or how you'll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words. [Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of the Father, so why should we be afraid of Holy Spirit]

Luke 8:10 (MSG) He said,
"You've been given insight into God's kingdom—you know how it works. There are others who need stories. But even with stories some of them aren't going to get it: Their eyes are open but don't see a thing, Their ears are open but don't hear a thing.

∙ Why some preachers tell stories, for those who don’t have insight into God’s kingdom

∙ Sometimes we hear only through what we have been taught, we filter it for truth through our teachers eyes

Luke 8:10 Passion translation;
Parable of the seed, and what kind of heart people have to receive the Word
He said, “You have been given a teachable heart to perceive the secret, hidden mysteries of God’s kingdom realm. But to those who don’t have a listening heart, my words are merely stories. Even though they have eyes, they are blind to the true meaning of what I say, and even though they listen, they won’t receive full revelation.

Pray for teachable heart, to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom realm, blinders removed to know the true meaning of what the Bible says, and ask for full revelation. Spiritual eyes open, ears to hear the message
And that all deception is removed. [Remember Satan deceives the whole world]

Revelation 20:8a (MSG)
[Satan] will launch again his old work of deceiving the nations, searching out victims in every nook and cranny of earth

Isaiah 6:9-10 (MSG)
'Listen hard, but you aren't going to get it; look hard, but you won't catch on.'
Make these people blockheads, with fingers in their ears and blindfolds on their eyes, So they won't see a thing, won't hear a word, So they won't have a clue about what's going on and, yes, so they won't turn around and be made whole."

Luke 24:45 (NLT)
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. [Jesus talking to disciples]

Luke 24:45 (MSG)
He went on to open their understanding of the Word of God, showing them how to read their Bibles this way.

Acts 17:3 (MSG)
He opened up the texts so they understood what they'd been reading all their lives:

The disciples had read the scripture all their life yet had not had their understanding enlightened

Isaiah 50:4-5 (KJV)
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

Ephesians 4:4-6 (KJV)
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Confusion is not of God, search the scriptures daily, like being born again or born from above
Body; The body of Christ, Him being the head, we are His body

Spirit; The divine God, Christ's Spirit, the Holy Spirit

Faith;(Peitho Greek ); persuasion, stepping order or credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), reliance upon Christ for salvation; the system of religious
(Gospel) truth itself :- assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. [ continued faithfulness ]

Lord; [Kuros Greek] supreme in authority, controller; God, Lord, Master, Sir.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV)
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

1 Thess. 3:10
Every night and day we sincerely and fervently pray that we may see you face-to-face and furnish you with whatever may be lacking in your faith.

1 Thessalonians 3:10 (NLT)
Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith.

1. One baptism of seven that saves the soul --
**The baptism into Christ and into His body

Acts 19:2-7 (MSG)
The first thing he said was, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace him with your heart?

Head knowledge, with the understanding of a man/ no the radical life change happened by the Holy Spirit 2

Did He get inside you?" "We've never even heard of that—a Holy Spirit? God within us?"
"How were you baptized, then?" asked Paul. "In John's baptism."
"That explains it," said Paul. "John preached a baptism of radical life-change so that people would be ready to receive the One coming after him, who turned out to be Jesus. If you've been baptized in John's baptism, you're ready now for the real thing, for Jesus."
And they were. As soon as they heard of it, they were baptized in the name of the Master Jesus.
Paul put his hands on their heads and the Holy Spirit entered them. From that moment on, they were praising God in tongues and talking about God's actions.
Altogether there were about twelve people there that day.

Robert Morris wrote a book over “The God I never Knew” because as a Baptist he never knew the Holy Spirit was also God. This is where we ask God to open our understanding to understand the truths of His Word. An old dog can learn new tricks.

Acts 13:45 (MSG)
Some of the Jews, seeing the crowds, went wild with jealousy and tore into Paul, contradicting everything he was saying, making an ugly scene.

Acts 19:1-7 Passion translation
“While Apollos was ministering in Corinth, Paul traveled on through the regions of Turkey [a] until he arrived in Ephesus, where he found a group of twelve followers of Jesus.[b] The first thing he asked them was “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” [12 others baptized in Holy Spirit 8 years later]

"No,” they replied. “We’ve not even heard of a Holy Spirit.”

3 Paul asked, “Then what was the meaning of your baptism?”[c]

They responded, “It meant that we would follow John’s teaching.”

4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was for those who were turning from their sins,[d] and he taught you to believe in and follow the one who was coming after him: Jesus the Anointed One.”[e]

5 When they understood this, they were baptized into the authority of Jesus, the Anointed One.[f] 6–7 And when Paul laid his hands on each of the twelve, the Holy Spirit manifested and they immediately spoke in tongues [g] and prophesied.[h]

Tongues; Acts 19:6 Or “supernaturally given languages.

Romans 1:11 (MSG)
The longer this waiting goes on, the deeper the ache. I so want to be there to deliver God's gift in person and watch you grow stronger right before my eyes!

The impartation of the Holy Spirit and his gifts are here being transferred from Paul to these believers.

Romans 1:11 (KJV)
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

1 Tim. 4:14 14
Don’t minimize the powerful gift that operates in your life, for it was imparted to you by the laying on of hands of the elders and was activated through the prophecy they spoke over you.

2 Tim. 1:6-7
I’m writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle [wake up the gift]
the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon you. For God will never give you the spirit of fear,[God empowers us not to be afraid of people] but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.

[Self Control; The Aramaic can also be translated “revelation-light,” or “instruction.]

[Power;(dunamai); force of miraculous power, a miracle itself, ability to do a mighty deed, worker of miracles, strength, might to do a wonderful work] Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Jesus taught that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, it is to impart power for our lives and ministries.

Acts 1:8a (MSG)
What you'll get is the Holy Spirit. [KJV says: Power comes on you]

2 Timothy 1:6-8 (MSG)
And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn't want us to be shy with His gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. [proceeding from sound judgement, able to perceive, using common sense]
So don't be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God,

2. Baptism of Repentance; also called John’s baptism; evidence to the world of the decision the old man has died, that you are born again to a different kingdom.

∙ This is why we are called Christians, we like a bride took on His last name. Now joined to Him.

Baptismo Greek: To wholly immerse, overwhelmed and fully wet, ablution [ the act of washing ones self or another person], cover wholly with a fluid, the washing away of sins. Symbolic of dying and being resurrected to a new life, [remember we are dead in our trespasses and sins] and sins being washed away.

Matthew 3:6 (MSG)
There at the Jordan River those who came to confess their sins were baptized into a changed life. [ to receive enduement with power for service]

Romans 6:3-7 (MSG)
Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land! That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means.
When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus.
Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.
Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin's every beck and call!

Baptism does not save us, because if it did it would be done by our works, the things we did;

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Grace; [in some place it is an epoch or a time frame, here meaning is different, for different word totally]
(chairo); showing graciousness or the divine influence upon the heart, being made acceptable, benefit, favor, gift of acceptance bringing joy, liberality, pleasure, made worthy by Him.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. [like Charis Bible college, called Grace Bible school]

Saved; Greek word; saos: safe, to saved and delivered or protected, heal, preserve, be made whole.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Works; Greek word; ergo; An act, or deed our own labor, to work at; or toil as an effort, our doings,

Ephesians 2:8 (MSG)
Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish!

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

2. Baptism of Suffering;

Luke 12:50-52 (NLT)
[Jesus is talking] I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against.

Matthew 20:22-23 (NLT)
But Jesus answered by saying to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink?” “Oh yes,” they replied, “we are able!” Jesus told them, “You will indeed drink from my bitter cup. But I have no right to say who will sit on my right or my left. My Father has prepared those places for the ones He has chosen.”

Mark 10:38-39 (KJV)
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

Revelation 19:13 (MSG)
He is dressed in a robe soaked with blood, and he is addressed as "Word of God."

[The suffering or the passion of Christ, so much suffering He was blood soaked]

Matt. 12:30 Passion translation
“So join with me, for if you’re not on my side you are against me. And if you refuse to help me gather the spoils, you are making things worse.

Matthew is encouraging people to work together, even if their thoughts don’t

Matthew 12:30
“This is a war with no neutrality. Join my side or you will miss the spoils of victory and be forever scattered.”
Matthew 12:30 Hebrew“He who does not join me denies me.”

The people who crucified Jesus were the religious people, they tried to stop the Word from being preached

1 Thessalonians 2:16 (MSG)
By trying to keep us from telling people who've never heard of our God how to be saved. They've made a career of opposing God, and have gotten mighty good at it. But God is fed up, ready to put an end to it.

1 Thessalonians 2:16 Or “the Gentiles.”

1 Thessalonians 2:16 That is, they are filling up to the limit of their sins before God.

1 Thessalonians 2:16 Or “wrath,” for the punishment resulting from their sins.

Of not allowing the gospel to be preached

1 Thessalonians 2:16 Or “completely punished” (to a full extent punished for not allowing the gospel to be preached).

This could be a prophetic word from Paul regarding the soon destruction of Jerusalem in the Roman war of AD 67–70. Paul is not referring to all Jews, for many had become converts and made up the early church. God rejected the empty rituals of Judaism but not the Jewish people.

1 Thessalonians 3:3
That is, the sufferings of persecution are included in God’s destined purpose for those who love God and faithfully follow Christ.

1 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed there-unto.

1 Thessalonians 3:3 (NLT)
And to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for such troubles.

AMP; So that no one would be unsettled by these difficulties [to which I have referred]. For you know that we have been destined for this [as something unavoidable in our position].

AMPB;That no one [of you] should be disturbed and beguiled and led astray by these afflictions and difficulties

CEB: We didn’t want any of you to be shaken by these problems. You know very well that we were meant to go through this.

]No one wants to be rejected, but you do the will of the Father...preach the gospel by any one to everyone ....despite persecution to stop] 4

Matthew 20:22-23 (MSG)
Jesus responded, "You have no idea what you're asking." And he said to James and John, "Are you capable of drinking the cup that I'm about to drink?" They said, "Sure, why not?"
Jesus said, "Come to think of it, you are going to drink my cup. But as to awarding places of honor, that's not my business. My Father is taking care of that."

2 Corinthians 1:6 (MSG)
When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times.

In the Greek it uses the word Maturion; where we get our word mature, it means suffering makes you mature.

2 Corinthians 1:6-7 (NLT)
Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer.
We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.

Baptisms in Scripture:

1. John's baptism in water (Mt. 3; Mk. 1; Lk. 3; 7:29-30; Jn. 1:31-33; 3:23-26; 10:40; Acts 1:5; 11:16; 19:3)

2. Christ's baptism in water (Jn. 3:22; 4:1-2)
Romans 6:3 (KJV)
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

3. Baptism in suffering (Lk. 12:50)

Luke 12:50 (NLT)
I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished.

4. Baptism in the cloud and in the sea (1Cor. 10:2) Moses

5. Christian baptism in water of repentance (Mt. 28:19; Mk. 16:16; Acts 2:38-41; 8:12-16, 36-38; 9:18; 10:47-48; 16:15,33; 18:8; 19:5; 22:16; 1Cor. 1:13-17; 1Pet. 3:21)

6. Baptism into Christ and into His body (Rom. 6:3-7; 1Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:27; Col. 2:12)

Romans 6:3 (MSG)
Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land! That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means.

7. Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:11,14; 20:22-23; Mk. 1:8; 10:38-39; Lk. 3:16; Jn. 1:33; 7:37-39; Acts 1:5; 11:16; 19:2-3)

Matthew 3:11 (KJV)
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Enduement of power from heaven for service. [This brought about the Church age or the age of GRACE, which was to include the Gentiles]

Colossians 2:11-14 (MSG)
Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It's not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws. No, you're already in—insiders—not through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin.
If it's an initiation ritual you're after, you've already been through it by submitting to baptism. Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ.
When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven,
the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's Cross.

John 1:32-33 (KJV)
And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him.
And I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon Whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Descending ; to fall upon.

Abode; to continue to dwell in, to stay, to abide within, continue on, dwell within, endure, be present in, remain in, stand with, tarry (for), × thine own. Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Jesus received the Holy Spirit, when it fell on Him, it started His 3 year ministry, when He was endued with POWER from on high

Acts 10:44-45 (NLT)
Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too.

Fell: Superimposition, [to place or lay upon one thing over another] a distribution of power, to seize, to lie upon, to duplicate.

Acts 11:16-17 (NLT)
Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?”

Gift of the Holy Spirit/ also called the baptism of the Holy Spirit

Acts 10:45 (MSG)
The believing Jews who had come with Peter couldn't believe it, couldn't believe that the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on "outsider" Gentiles,

Poured; (ek) and cheo (to pour); to pour forth; to bestow :- gush or pour out, run greedily (out of ), shed (abroad, forth), spill onto, a marvelous exceeding abundance [of the Spirit being poured out].
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Acts 10:45-48 (KJV)
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:1-7 (MSG)
Now, it happened that while Apollos was away in Corinth, Paul made his way down through the mountains, came to Ephesus, and happened on some disciples there.
The first thing he said was, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace him with your heart?

Not just the disciples;

Baptism can happen before or after water baptism/ but is a separate baptism

Jesus Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:11; Jn. 1:31-33);

Matthew 3:11 (KJV)
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit [while in his mothers body before birth]
Jesus was baptized with the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit came like a dove after He was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. It stay upon Him.

Acts 10:47 (MSG)
"Do I hear any objections to baptizing these friends with water? They've received the Holy Spirit exactly as we did."

Acts 10:46 (KJV)
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

This was 8 years after Pentecost

[ Peter was referring to a later time when those who were not at the Feast of Pentecost to be filled with the Holy Spirit, which had not been baptized yet. Some time later, 6 in one incident, 3,000 at the preaching of the Word afterwards when Peter was preaching, 25 days later,

Paul Baptized by Ananias, not one of the disciples

Acts 9:17-18 (MSG)
So Ananias went and found the house, placed his hands on blind Saul, and said, "Brother Saul, the Master sent me, the same Jesus you saw on your way here. He sent me so you could see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit."
No sooner were the words out of his mouth than something like scales fell from Saul's eyes—he could see again! He got to his feet, was baptized,

He makes His home in you;

John 3:3-4 (KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

John 3:2-7 (MSG)
Late one night he visited Jesus and said, "Rabbi, we all know you're a teacher straight from God. No one could do all the God-pointing, God-revealing acts you do if God weren't in on it." Jesus said, "You're absolutely right. Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it's not possible to see what I'm pointing to—to God's kingdom."
"How can anyone," said Nicodemus, "be born who has already been born and grown up? You can't re-enter your mother's womb and be born again. What are you saying with this 'born-from-above' talk?"
Jesus said, "You're not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation—the 'wind hovering over the water' creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it's not possible to enter God's kingdom.
When you look at a baby, it's just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can't see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.
"So don't be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be 'born from above'—out of this world, so to speak.

[So is every one that is born of the Spirit] As the natural man hears the wind, so the man who is born again hears the voice of the Spirit.

Three Baptisms for Believers:

1. Into Christ or into His body at repentance and the new birth. Called "one baptism" (Eph. 4:5), because it is the only baptism that saves the soul and brings into the body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:13 (NLT)
Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

2. Water baptism after one is saved

Matthew 3:11 (MSG)
"I'm baptizing you here in the river, turning your old life in for a kingdom life. The real action comes next: The main character in this drama—compared to him I'm a mere stagehand— will ignite the kingdom life within you, a fire within you, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out.

3. Spirit baptism, the enduement of power for service. It can take place before water baptism (Acts 10:44-48) or after it (Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-11; 8:12-21; 19:1-7).

Matthew 3:14-17 (NLT)
But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?”
But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him. After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on Him.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

Also called; Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:11,14; 20:22-23; Mk. 1:8; 10:38-39; Lk. 3:16; Jn. 1:33; 7:37-39; Acts 1:5; 11:16; 19:2-3).

The Holy Spirit is the agent to baptize into Christ and into His body (1Cor. 12:13); Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:11; Jn. 1:31-33); and the minister is the agent to baptize into water (Mt. 28:19).

The disciples were filled and had the Spirit in them 3 years before they were baptized with the Spirit (Mt. 10:1-8,20; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4,33

Old Testament Spiritual Experiences

Old Testament saints; They were filled (Ex. 28:3; 31:3; 35:31; Dt. 34:9; Mic. 3:8) and had the Spirit in them (Gen. 41:38; Num. 27:18; Dan. 4:8-9,18; 5:11-14; 6:3); within them (Ps. 51:10-11; Isa. 63:10-14; Ezek. 11:19); into them (Ezek. 2:2; 3:24; Acts 3:21); and upon them (Num. 11:17-29; Judg. 3:10; 6:34; 11:29; 14:6,19; 15:14). He moved many (Judg. 13:25; Acts 3:21; 2Pet. 1:21), but none were baptized in the Spirit. John the Baptist and others were filled with the Spirit, but not baptized (Lk. 1:15-17,41,67; 2:25-38).
Mary was filled about 35 years before she was baptized with the Spirit at Pentecost (Lk. 1:45-56; Acts 1:13-15; 2:1-4).
