“For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption.”
“He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.”
We come to know the God of the Gospel!
We live to make him known!
By showing everyone the compassion of Christ.
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
By taking every opportunity to preach Jesus!
- Use Scripture (Acts 28:20, 23; 28:31)
- Take advantage of all circumstances (Acts 28:17–20, 23)
- Be bold. (Acts 28:31; Eph 6:18–20; Phil 1:12–14)
“…and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak."
Why is this our mission?
Jesus is our only hope! (28:31; 2 Tim 2:8–9)
1 Peter 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
