Isaiah 2:3 (MSG) “Come, let’s climb GOD’s Mountain, go to the House of the God of Jacob. He’ll show us the way he works so we can live the way we’re made.”
Discipleship - BECOMING what God made us to become and MAKING what He has called us to Make.

A Christ follower growing in faith skills as they lead others into and through their journey with God.
The Hebrews were a people whose
· SALVATION had been accomplished in the Exodus from Egypt,
· IDENTITY had been defined at Mt. Sinai, (you will be my people and I will be your God)
· PRESERVATION had been assured in the 40 years of wilderness wandering.

So annually, they marked these points of their journey.
They refreshed these memories of God’s saving ways at the FEAST OF PASSOVER in the Spring.

They renewed their identity as a people of Covenant with God at the FEAST OF PENTECOST in early Summer.

They responded as a blessed community reminding themselves of God’s provision and blessing at the FEAST OF TABERNACLES in the Fall.
As we study the Psalms of Ascent we will see the following faith skills found in Disciples: Repentance, Providence, Worship, Service, Help, Security, Joy, Work, Happiness, Perseverance, Hope, Humility, Obedience, Community and of Blessing.
A person has to get fed up with the ways of the world before they acquire an appetite for the GRACE of our God
The first step toward God then is a step away form the LIES of the WORLD, the LIES about OURSELVES, our NEIGHBORS and our UNIVERSE.

The Biblical term we use to describe the “NO” we say to the WORLD’S LIES and the “YES” we say to GOD’S TRUTH is REPENTANCE
Repentance is not an EMOTION. It is not feeling sorry for your sins. It is a DECISION.
Repentance is the most practical of all words and the most practical of all acts. It pulls us out of the false reality of the world system, the world’s way of thinking and brings us into the reality of God’s love.
Their distress and ultimately disgust with the world led them to say NO to its Big Lies and YES to God. Now....

The truth of God now explained their lives
The grace of God fulfilled their lives
The forgiveness of God renewed their lives
The love of God blessed their lives

The journey of the Disciple / Pilgrim can only begin when we denounce the Lies of the World, recognize our dissatisfaction and turn to God to walk in His ways.
Isaiah 2:3 (MSG) “Come, let’s climb GOD’s Mountain, go to the House of the God of Jacob. He’ll show us the way he works so we can live the way we’re made.”
