Awaiting the Blessing
Psalm 4

We can experience the peace of God as we wait upon the blessing of God. In Psalm 4, David leads us to two realities which, if we keep before us, will allow the peace of God to well up within us even as we wait on him.

I. We can experience peace as we wait for God’s blessing when we reflect upon the character of God.

II. We can experience peace as we wait for God’s blessing when we remember that we are set aside by God.

As those who have been set apart by God, don’t allow anger or fear to derail our trust in and obedience to God.

Conclusion: Be still, my soul! the Lord is on thy side; Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain; Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul! thy best, thy heavenly Friend thro’ thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

The Dewey Ladies’ Book club will meet at the church to discuss “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson. All women of the congregation and community are welcome to participate.

In the Worship service, our candidate for the position of Associate Pastor of Youth Ministry, Andrew C, will bring the morning message. Both the sermon and Q&A will be livestreamed on Facebook for anyone who cannot join in person.

This Little Light of Mine Preschool: Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will be open on February 1 for current families and for children of those who attend the Dewey Community Church. Application forms are available on the entryway table. Please contact Rhonda H. for additional information.

The Stewardship Committee/DCC Leadership Team will hold their quarterly meeting on Tuesday, February 2. All leaders of Christian Education, Fellowship Committee, Worship Committee, Preschool and Stewardship Committee are encouraged to attend.

“To Tell the Truth” is the title of the series of messages which Pastor Neal will begin on Sunday, February 7. The title is drawn from John 18:37 where Jesus says to Pilate, “For this reason I was born, and for this I come into the world, to testify to the truth.” The series will cover Jesus’ “Truly, truly” statements found with the gospel of John.
